Kandal Police Arrest Assassin at Victim’s Funeral Home

Kandal: It has taken just two days for the Kandal and Prey Veng Provincial Gendarmeries, along with the National Gendarmerie, to solve a case of premeditated murder. The operation was led by the Commander of the Kandal Provincial Gendarmerie, General Sam Tola, under the direct supervision of Deputy Commander Touch Inan.

The murder occurred last Wednesday night in the village of Ampil Teuk in the Muk Kampoul district of Kandal. The following morning, police received information about a corpse with stab wounds. The victim was identified as 40-year-old Vietnamese national, Nguyen Dang Chung, who had been working as a construction contractor.

After a two-day manhunt, the prime suspect has been nabbed. He is 38-year-old construction worker, Sreng Tay. He was a co-worker of the victim. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to stabbing the victim after a work dispute. The case has been sent to the Kandal Provincial Court. The accused is being held at the provincial prison.
